Speakers:

Joan Fusco is the Director of Research and Education at Savoy Associates. Joan joined Savoy Associates in April 2003, and was instrumental in the development of their second office in Hamilton, NJ. In 2005, she was recruited to serve in a newly created role as our first Manager of Research and Broker support. Today the company has five locations across the region. Joan provides vital information to our personnel and broker partners, keeping everyone abreast of regulatory, legislative, compliance, and dynamic benefit issues, especially of a complex and/or unusual nature. Through her work, our account executives have access to the latest legislative information, as well as Joan’s professional commentary and insight, so they can properly
address brokers’ and clients’ concerns on a daily basis.

Joan is a chief contributor to the Savoy Associates Knowledge Base for Quick Flash News articles, Frequently Asked Questions, and Regional Reference Guides for NY, NJ, PA and DE.

Joan is the chair of NJs Commissioner’s Advisory Board and Chair of the Rapid Response team for the National Association of Health Underwriters. She is licensed in NY, NJ, PA, DE and MD and has been in the insurance industry for  over 30 years.

 

Peter L. Gualtieri, Director of Business Development in Pennsylvania at Savoy Associates, attended Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, where he graduated with both a BBA and MBA in Marketing and Management.  Prior to this achievement he received his Bachelor of the Arts while attending Central High School.  Central remains the only preparatory magnet school in the United States with the authority to confer academic degrees to select graduates.  Peter has developed an extensive career building businesses in healthcare and hospitality industries for over twenty-five years.


In 2001, Peter was retained as a consultant for the mid-Atlantic commercial health insurance carrier, Fidelity Insurance Group, where he re-structured work flow systems, managed sales & account management staff and initiated training programs during a rapid growth period.  In 2004, Peter directed a successful post-acquisition integration of Fidelity with a national Fortune 20 company, UnitedHealthcare.


As Vice President of Sales and Account Management of UnitedHealthcare, Peter led the geographic expansion into Pennsylvania for the largest health and well being company in the country.  His initial focus was in growing the small group market (under 100 employees), as he led efforts in adding over 1,800 new groups sold through 800 brokers over a three year period.  Peter’s last three years with UnitedHealthcare focused on retention and service of both small group and large group employers (100-5,000 employees).
in 2010, Peter joined Savoy Associates, a leading regional health/ancillary insurance general agency with over 20,000 clients throughout four states.  He is specifically charged with executing the Savoy Associates’ business development initiatives and expansion in the Pennsylvania and Delaware marketplace. 


Peter is the current Vice President/President elect the Greater Philadelphia Health Underwriters Association.  He currently serves as an educator in the health insurance and related fields, and teaches continuing education classes regularly.  In the past, he has been a member of the Main Line, Delaware County & Chester County Chambers of Commerce.  He has volunteered his time with charitable organizations such as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and the American Lung Association as well as serving as a mentor on-line for Micro Mentor, where he provides entrepreneurs with opportunities to grow their businesses.
