ABOUT ABOUT

How do you talk to clients about retirement? In this video teleconference, moderated by FSP past president Richard Weber, MBA, CLU, AEP, you’ll hear from three American College professors who teach the College’s RICP® graduate program and a member of FSP who helped develop the program.

The opening segment features FSP member Curtis Cloke presenting an overview of the 3-step process of education, discovery and analytics he uses to talk with a client about creating a sustainable income in retirement. Included in the discussion are various sources of income as well as tangible assets.

In the remainder of the program, moderator Richard Weber joins College professors David Littell, Wade Pfau, and Jamie Hopkins, and FSP’s Curtis Cloke for a look at the income tools used to create a livable, sustainable retirement income. The panel will consider portfolio investments, retirement plans, reverse mortgages, QLAC and RMDs, executive benefits, life insurance and more. A case study will illustrate the practical application of the income tools discussed. A Q&A session follows each portion of the program.

Attendees will learn:

  • How a practitioner works with a typical new client
  • What income tools are available to construct a sound retirement income strategy
  • How investment strategies change from accumulation strategies to income distribution strategies for retirement purposes
  • The health and tax risks that affect income decisions and that must be addressed when planning for lifetime income
  • How to construct an income strategy using the knowledge gained
